Collection: South Sea and Tahitian Pearl

There are four main types of cultured pearls: Akoya, South Sea, Tahitian, and Freshwater.  The former three are cultured in seawater, while the fourth in lakes or ponds.  Each cultured pearl type has different colors and sizes, produced by different species of mollusks.

South sea pearls are mainly produced in Australia, Indonesia and the Philippines.  They can be white, silver, or golden.

Tahitian pearls are from the islands of French Polynesia and can be gray, black or brown, with blue, green, purple or pink overtones.

Pearl is the birthstone of June.
